All you need is LOVE

I'm of the belief that love should be celebrated everyday - but Valentines Day is still a great excuse to cherish the loved ones around us...

When I worked in a confectionery store many years ago I will never forget meeting a man who was buying 5 boxes of chocolates, one for his wife, one for each of his four daughters and a bag of jellybeans for his dog. This really stuck with me - I guess because the gesture was so grand and the smile on his face was so precious.

For this day and for any other day for that matter, Miss Lulu's has brought in a full artillery of goodness and love. There is a choice of fluffy choc-dipped marshmallow hearts in two sizes (and you can customize the larger heart if you want to!), heart emblazoned cupcakes or gingerbread hearts (which will now be staying on the menu due to popular demand)...

Also new in the world of Miss Lulu's Dessert Parlour - you can now choose your delivery date when you order. HOORAY!  So make sure you reserve your delivery date early to avoid disappointment :)

Miss Lulu entered the Deep Dark Forest...

When I was first diagnosed with coeliac disease - my sister and I would make special trips to the Food Hall at David Jones and she would let me order anything I wanted so that SHE could eat it for me.  The ultimate sacrifice hahaha :)  I remember ordering a decadent slice of Black Forest cake for her once and I definitely enjoyed watching her eat it (& smelling it too - yes I was desperate to get as close as I could without any repercussions!)

Presenting our Black Forest Cupcakes - soft and moist chocolate cupcakes drizzled with cherry liqueur, stuffed with cherries and adorned with our luscious dairy free cream, then dusted with shavings of raw chocolate and finished off with a cherry on top! They're Gluten free, Dairy free, Yeast free, Soy free with No Refined Sugar :)

I've been having so much fun lately creating new treats!  I am particularly proud of this little baby - I can't wait for you all to try it!

Choc-Dipped Vegan Vanilla Bean Marshmallows!

So my big sister loves eating choc-dipped marshmallows and I resigned myself to living vicariously through her and watching her snaffle down treats of this sort.

Until now!!!

Yesterday we shared this together and for once I wasn't just watching - but indulging alongside her!

These fluffy vanilla bean marshmallows are made with brown rice syrup, dipped in raw dark chocolate (double the antioxidants!) and are decorated with a sweet fresh strawberry icing - just in time for Valentine's Day!  They are also vegan, egg free, corn free, soy free, gluten free and dairy free too!

We'll be adding them to our online store very soon - they'll come in two sizes - one that's delightfully humungous and the other a bit smaller! :)

Strawberries & Cream Sponge Cake OH MY!

After discovering with great excitement how to make dairy free vanilla bean whipped cream - this is the first thing I had to try...

Why?  Because I was OBSESSED with this cake when I was young girl...  There is something so perfect about the combination of sweet soft sponge, spread with strawberry jam, layered with fresh ruby strawberries and topped off, of course, with light as air whipped cream...

Our Strawberries & Cream Sponge Cake is gluten free, dairy free, yeast free and soy free :)

We'll be adding this to our online store really soon - before we do we just need to inhale another slice with a cup of tea ;)

With lots of love!

Dairy Free Whipped Cream. Enough Said.

Today is a big day.  It's a HUGE day.  It's Holy Grail day.

Today I finally worked out how to make dairy free vanilla bean whipped cream that is light, fluffy and delicious - I was so shocked that I had to sit down for a few minutes and let it sink in!

There have been so many attempts that were just plain depressing - gooey slimeball messes that I couldn't even put into my mouth to taste - failures that went straight into the bin despite great ingredients.  So many recipes out there led me astray - when really I just needed to follow my heart...

I don't know what else to say - but that my mind is whirring in so many directions - I'm thinking of so many possibilities and I can't wait to try them all!  I still can't quite believe it.

Miss Lulu's dairy free cream is also gluten free, soy free, egg free and vegan too - and we can't wait for you to try it :)

Keep your eye out for new products that will include our new discovery!

With love & excitement,
