Apple Crumble Cupcake

When I was a young girl - my patient dad tried in vain to teach me fractions and he would try to get my attention by saying "Let's start with a pie..." and my response would always be... "What flavour!?"... I was always wishing he would say apple!  Needless to say I'm sure he realised pretty quickly that I was never going to be a mathematician!

In our apple crumble cupcake (soon to take cake form as well) - we've tried to include all that is divinely delicious about an apple pie in cake form :)

We started with a cinnamon sponge and stuffed it with apple pie filling that's been spiced with cinnamon and sweetened with agave nectar.  Then to finish it off, we've soft-served the top with our vanilla bean dairy free cream and sprinkled it with a crunchy cinnamon crumble.

When Miss Lulu Went To Market

"Dining with one's friends and beloved family is certainly one of life's primal and most innocent delights, one that is both soul-satisfying and eternal..." – Julia Child

My hopes & expectations for our first pop up appearance were mild compared to how incredible it turned out to be - we've never seen so many happy faces and we totally didn't expect that we would sell out - but we did!

I was incredibly humbled to see everyone who made a special visit to support us and I was really taken aback by the number of people who weren't allergic to anything but were buying and devouring our treats.

The feedback was so wonderful and made every bit of hard work worth it x  For me it was extremely "soul-satisfying" as Julia Child so perfectly put it.

I wanted to take some photos - but we were inundated before the market even started - but thankfully some of my blessed support took a couple of photos which you can see below :)

I'm so lucky & extremely grateful to be able to thank everyone who turned up for us, everyone who tried our treats, everyone who gave such encouraging and positive words and especially the people who helped me (you know who you are and I adore and love all of you) x

With love & gratitude x

We are the Dreamers of Dreams

Since we started in December - we've been trying to get in touch with sensitive tummies out there with the intention of helping bring back a bit of magic, fun and happiness.

But what we totally didn't expect are the orders we've been getting from people who have no allergies at all.  And even more unexpected is the feedback - people taking the time to write in and tell me that they couldn't tell that our treats were gluten and dairy free (and more). I can only say that I am beyond humbled and completely overwhelmed by it.

In my heart I wished so badly that I could just bring some relief to people who so often walk past beautiful bakeries knowing that there will be nothing in there for them (and if there is - it's not often appealing).  And I wanted to create something that could be shared around without hesitation - rather than something sensitive tummies would feel ashamed of.  I wished it - but I wasn't absolutely sure that I could achieve it.

But with everything you dream about - it's so important that you give it a go - otherwise you'll always wonder.  And now?  I'm beyond glad that I'm doing this - because it has become one of the most rewarding things I've ever done in my life.

Thank you once again to everyone for spreading the word - the enthusiasm and support is such a beautiful gift for us.

Lots of love,
Miss Lulu xx
